Walker Marketing Partners with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer to Advance Pediatric Cancer Research

Also to Host Virtual Bake Sale Fundraiser to Support Phase I Research Grants

Concord, NC – Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a national not-for-profit organization, has selected Walker Marketing as its partner to help facilitate public relations and marketing efforts. The agency, which specializes in healthcare marketing and communications, is working to increase awareness of the foundation’s mission to advance research for pediatric cancer, the number one disease killer of children under the age of 18.

“Walker Marketing has always been dedicated to serving as a local philanthropic advertising and marketing agency. However, this year we wanted to identify a long-term healthcare charity partner that supports the needs of individuals on a national level,” says Walker Marketing’s Director of Public Relations, Jennifer Garber. “This year, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer announced over $1.15 million in grants. They are making a tremendous impact in advancing new treatments for pediatric cancer, and we want to make sure their story is heard.”

Cookies for Kids’ Cancer was founded in 2008 by Gretchen and Larry Witt, who were inspired by their young son Liam’s courageous battle with cancer. Through the concept of local bake sales and online cookie sales, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer inspires individuals, organizations and businesses across the country to join in the fight against pediatric cancer by raising the funds and awareness necessary to provide more families with the hope they deserve.

“The support that Walker Marketing is giving us is invaluable, because it will help support our mission of raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research,” says Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Founder Gretchen Holt-Witt. “We are not only grateful for their support, but are looking forward to a long and productive relationship that ultimately will benefit the tens of thousands of children dealing with pediatric cancer in the U.S.”

Walker Marketing will also be supporting the organization’s mission this holiday season by hosting a “virtual bake sale” on a fundraising page created through the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer website. The agency hopes to raise $5,000 by the end of December, and encourages everyone to help by visiting www.cookiesforkidscancer.org and making a donation through Walker Marketing’s giving page.
